art Mur at the Scope Art Show

Art Mur is very pleased to present the work of Patrick Bérube, Jannick Deslauriers, Nicolas Grenier and David Spriggs at the Scope Art Show in New York, from March 6-9, in a thematic presentation of works focused on dystopia, forces of conflict and translation of forms.

Patrick Bérubé’s art is both playful and serious. His multifaceted practice includes photography, sculpture and installation. No matter the medium, he employs humour and sagacity. By appropriating daily references, he destabilizes reality and our expectations of it.

In a similar manner, Jannick Deslauriers’ work is a testimony to the poetry of our times. She expresses the helpless vulnerability we may feel when faced with the grace and beauty of created forms, which are at once disturbing and astounding.

David Spriggs’s technique presents work that is seemingly ephemeral in its translucence as well, but it’s created from multiple layered images of transparent film.

Moving from sculpture to painting, Nicolas Grenier’s approach transcribes the working language of architectural practice into a fragmented phraseology of building, an assemblage of structural analogies that open up fresh possibilities for social critique.
