Feature: a focused showcase
dedicated to leading contemporary art

The Contemporary Art Galleries Association (AGAC) is proud to announce that Feature Contemporary Art Fair will take place from October 23 to 26 in the historic building owned by the Canadian Opera Company, Joey & Toby Tanenbaum Opera Centre in downtown Toronto. An exclusive VIP preview will be held on Wednesday, October 22.

For its first edition, Feature will welcome 23 leading contemporary art galleries selected by an advisory committee of influential Canadian experts. This new art fair is dedicated exclusively to cutting edge contemporary art and is organized by galleries, for galleries. Feature will bring together artists whose practices are outstanding for their ability to innovate, challenge and inspire.

A bold exhibition design

With an audacious exhibition design and with each gallery presenting a maximum of three artists, Feature will provide visitors with a fresh and exciting perspective on contemporary art. The innovative layout of the fair will generate a dynamic presentation space and will foster dialogue between the artworks on display, thus creating an intimate and unique viewer experience.

TD Bank, proud presenting sponsor of Feature Contemporary Art Fair

AGAC is pleased to announce TD as presenting sponsor. We’re delighted to sponsor Feature, Toronto’s newest art fair and believe it will really add to the already robust contemporary art scene in Toronto, said Scott Mullin, Vice President, Community Relations, TD Bank Group. TD began collecting contemporary art in the 1960s. We continue to acquire Canadian art and actively support a range of art activities across Canada including through loans from our corporate collection for public exhibitions.

Feature’s ambassadors, a prestigious duo

The Association is also honoured to announce the involvement of Jeanne Parkin and Samara Walbohm, two passionate patrons of the arts, as ambassadors of Feature’s first edition.

Ms. Parkin is a leading art advisor and collector who has been involved in the visual art scene for the past 60 years. I am thrilled and honoured to be invited to be an Ambassador of Feature. You are to be congratulated on launching such a major and much needed project says Parkin.

In turn, Ms. Walbohm declared that with the addition of Feature, Toronto is on its way to be becoming an important centre of contemporary art. Offering a more comprehensive art experience, Toronto is now a significant art destination. Ms. Walbohm is a renowned art collector and co-owner of Toronto’s Scrap Metal.
