Located not far from the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, in the neighbourhood where most contemporary art galleries are located, Galerie B-312 is an artist-run centre devoted to the work of beginning artists or of artists whose work requires special support. For the centre, there is no boundary between the various modes of expression. It mounts exhibitions and welcomes curatorial projects which address issues in contemporary art. It also considers any project involving an exploratory-type event in artistic domains related to the visual arts, such as performance, public intervention art, music or literature. The centre supports art as a fully-fledged form of knowledge and organizes panel discussions and encourages dialogue between artists and thinkers in other disciplines.
