Katrina Marie Mendoza (b. 1990) is an artist from Winnipeg whose expanded painting practice uses digital drawings and found material in repetitive reassembly. Her work questions and feeds an obsessive editing habit. She recently completed a BFA at the University of Manitoba.

Ideas creep from the wall to the floor and back until estimation coincides with comfortable fit. untitled landscape and (⌒-⌒; ) are made of favourite drawn and found objects puzzle-pieced into an easy picture playscape. Kawawa Window & Door is an imaginary home improvement effort, a futile yet therapeutic project of realizing daydreams and relocating myself between physical and mental realities of home. Long overdue home renovations have turned into tepid daydreams. These daydreams were allowed to overgrow into pretend-plans of hyper-idealized non-functional ‘solutions’ for structural and decorative imperfections at home. Flaws observed have been redrawn, cut and assembled into a remedial space.
