Over the years, photography, performance and installation have become inseparable in my practice. Working primarily with the tableau vivant, I delve into the multiple layers of my own identity, pulling stories from fairy tales, mythology and my own family histories. The persona that I have created through my performances is also based on different facets of myself; some are fantasized others are related to traumatic events from my past. The fears resulting from these events are the strongest emotions I have ever experienced. They are a strange mixture of desire, attraction and repulsion. I often use seduction and desire to stimulate a strong emotional response in the viewer. My goal is for the viewer to experience a combination of desire and fear, as well as awe and wonder. I want them to enter my imaginary world that is fantastical and fictional, but also inspired by real life events. I consider myself an image maker.
